The conference “Forum of Engineers and Technicians of Slovakia 2026 (FITS’26)”, organized by the Union of Slovak Scientific and Technical Societies in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Research, Development and Youth of the Slovak Republic, took place on March 12 in Košice. It focused on the transformation of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) into a strategic tool in geodesy, industry, and cybersecurity. A key contribution of the conference was the connection of academia, industry, and the defense sector (the Military Aviation Authority of the Slovak Republic) in building a secure and integrated airspace. An important part of the program was the recognition of distinguished personalities in the field of science and technology. Staff members of the institute, Jan Kačur and Tomáš Škovránek, received the Silver Medal of ZSVTS for their contributions.
