ISPRS World Congress 2026 in Toronto
This week, our colleagues Assoc. Prof. Katarína Pukanská, PhD. and Assoc. Prof. Karol Bartoš, PhD. are representing our institute, the Institute of Geodesy, Cartography and Geographic Information Systems, as well as Slovakia at the XXV ISPRS Congress, held from 4 to 11 July 2026 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre in Toronto, Canada.
Held every four years, the congress is organized under the theme “From Imagery to Understanding” and brings together researchers, industry representatives, and young professionals from around the world. The scientific program focuses on the latest developments in photogrammetry and remote sensing, including the application of artificial intelligence and machine learning to image and geospatial data processing, sensor fusion, autonomous sensing systems, and digital twins—the very topics that are also at the core of our research activities.
In addition to participating in the scientific program, our colleagues have an important responsibility as national delegates representing Slovakia and the Slovak Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (SSFPRS) at the ISPRS General Assembly. During the Assembly, delegates make key decisions regarding the future direction of the Society for the next four-year term. One of the outcomes of this year's voting was the selection of Incheon, South Korea, as the host city of the next ISPRS Congress in 2030.
We look forward to hearing about the new knowledge, inspiring ideas, and international collaborations that our colleagues will bring back to Košice.
