The MIT–Slovakia Seed Fund is designed to support joint basic research projects involving faculty members and students from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and public higher education institutions, universities, and public research institutions based in the Slovak Republic. Projects may cover the fields represented by MIT’s schools and departments, including natural sciences, humanities, arts and social sciences, management, economics, computer science, engineering, architecture, and planning.

The Slovak Republic has already invested USD 600,000 in the MIT–Slovakia Seed Fund, and we are proud of the successful collaborations established with research teams at MIT. Over the next four years, the Fund plans to support two to four projects annually, with expected funding of up to USD 30,000 per project. The Fund opens new opportunities for Slovakia to establish and develop cooperation with MIT while providing financial support to Slovak researchers and students.

All necessary information and the application template are available on the MISTI portal and on the website of the Ministry of Investments, Regional Development and Informatization of the Slovak Republic.

The application deadline for this funding cycle is 3 December 2026.
